How to Encrypt a PDF

Quickly password protect your PDFs to prevent unintended eyes from viewing your document.

PDFs are a great way to export your work and ensure formatting is consistent across devices. But this comes with tradeoffs, since PDFs are so universally accessible, an unsecured PDF can be modified by anyone who has access to the file.

To prevent unauthorized access and/or editing, the PDF Conduit Encryption tool can be used to add multiple levels of password protection.

How to “Lock” a PDF and restrict access:

  1. Upload your file to the PDF Conduit Encryption tool
  2. Type a “User Password” that users will be required to enter in order to open/view the PDF
  3. Select “Encrypt” then download your encrypted PDF!
